The flagstick should be properly replaced in the hole before the players leave the putting green.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-media-text has-media-on-the-right is-stacked-on-mobile\" style=\"grid-template-columns:auto 25%\"><div class=\"wp-block-media-text__content\">\n<h3>Handling the flag<\/h3>\n<p>Don&#8217;t drop the flagstick on the putting surface as it will cause damage.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Always lower the flagstick by club or by hand.<\/li>\n<li>Avoid damage to surrounds by placing the stick in the centre of the cup.<\/li>\n<li>When Removing Ball players are requested NOT to use their putter to remove their golf ball from the hole.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/div><figure class=\"wp-block-media-text__media\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"160\" height=\"144\" src=\"https:\/\/miclubrd17.miclub.com.au\/cms\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/01\/flagstick.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-2375 size-full\"\/><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity\"\/>\n\n\n\n<h2>Bunkers<\/h2>\n<p>Before leaving a bunker, a player should carefully fill up and smooth over all holes and footprints made by him, and then leave the rake with the handle pointing toward the tee of the hole being played.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Always enter the bunker at the lowest point.<\/li>\n<li>Pull rake toward you as you exit the bunker.<\/li>\n<li>If required rake other affected areas.<\/li>\n<li>Do not pile sand at the edge of the bunker.<\/li>\n<li>Push back excess sand.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity\"\/>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Bunker Rake Policy<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Always leave rake in the flat of the bunker with the handle parallel to the line of flight of the hole being played.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Rakes should be placed as far from the edge as possible.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Muirfield Golf Club really is one of Sydney\u2019s most beautiful golf courses.
