Bunkers guarding the left-hand side of the fairway make a seemly large fairway a lot smaller. Favouring the left-hand side of the fairway provides the perfect angle to attack this small, tilted green that is heavily protected by the front bunker. You’ll need your short game in check to make par here.
| Tee | Par | Distance |
|---|---|---|
| Oxford | 5 | 464 m |
| Gold | 5 | 437 m |
| White | 5 | 392 m |
| Cambridge | 4 | 303 m |
A long par 4, where length and accuracy off the tee is critical. Hug the fairway bunkers off the tee and work the camber to get a little extra distance, giving yourself a good angle into any pin.
| Tee | Par | Distance |

| Oxford | 4 | 388 m |
| Gold | 4 | 321 m |

Courage needed to get yourself the best angle to the flag – a classic Commonwealth hole where tee placement is critical so you can approach this ’tilted’ green that cambers left to right. There is plenty of fairway on the left, but that’s not where you want to come in from….
Picturesque from the elevated tee, this long par 4 requires a strong drive down the left-hand side of the fairway – a back pin on this hole is difficult to attack – reconsider and play for par if you have a long shot into this heavily guarded green.

|---|---|---|
| Oxford | 4 | 377 m |
| Gold | 4 | 350 m |
| White | 4 | 291 m |
| Cambridge | 4 | 291 m |
At 531 metres, this genuine three-shot par 5 is considered one of Sandbelt’s most challenging, particularly into a southerly wind. The wicked green is ready to resist any ball coming from the left side. Avoid the left greenside bunker at all costs!
| Tee | Par | Distance |
|---|---|---|
| Oxford | 5 | 531 m |
| Gold | 5 | 501 m |
| White | 5 | 418 m |
| Cambridge | 5 | 360 m |
The longest of the par 3s looks inviting from the tee, but don’t be deceived! Be careful attacking a back left pin with its perched shelf, as it can often result in a bogey.
| Tee | Par | Distance |
|---|---|---|
| Oxford | 3 | 181 m |
| Gold | 3 | 164 m |
| White | 3 | 140 m |
| Cambridge | 3 | 90 m |
Sitting on one of the highest parts of the course. A difficult green to approach, with a heavy left to right slope. The back left portion of the green provides a nice back stop with balls releasing to lower pins. Don’t overshoot, as you’ll be left with a delicate bunker shot that will have you scrambling for par.
| Tee | Par | Distance |

| Oxford | 4 | 372 m |
| Gold | 4 | 360 m |
| White | 4 | 333 m |
| Cambridge | 4 | 267 m |
Do not be deceived! A short, classic Sandbelt par 3 with small landing zones. The right-hand side of the green feeds the common pins but is heavily protected by bunkers. A right to left tilt sees tee shots landing on the left funneling into a swale, leaving a difficult up and down.
| Tee | Par | Distance |
|---|---|---|
| Oxford | 3 | 133 m |
| Gold | 3 | 121 m |
| White | 3 | 108 m |
| Cambridge | 3 | 98 m |
A sweeping right to left tee shot is required. For the longer hitters, a birdie opportunity presents. Respect any pin on the left side – an up and down on this tilted green from the left side will be tough
| Tee | Par | Distance |
|---|---|---|
| Oxford | 5 | 501 m |
| Gold | 5 | 475 m |
| White | 5 | 415 m |
| Cambridge | 4 | 315 m |
For the big hitters, it’s over the bunkers on the right and a gentle landing to give you a mid-iron into this difficult hole. Don’t overshoot the fairway. A two-tiered green, with the front half sloping right to left and into a swale. Long is safe for any back pin. A Par here is always a bonus!
| Tee | Par | Distance |
|---|---|---|
| Oxford | 4 | 367 m |
| Gold | 4 | 355 m |
| White | 4 | 319 m |
| Cambridge | 4 | 243 m |
A strong drive is needed on this hole. Plenty of room out to the left and the best angle to attack the green. A complex green site, that is heavily guarded, makes the 12th one of the toughest holes on the course.
| Tee | Par | Distance |
|---|---|---|
| Oxford | 4 | 408 m |
| Gold | 4 | 386 m |
| White | 4 | 346 m |
| Cambridge | 5 | 346 m |
A short par 5 presents a great opportunity to make birdie. Hug the bunkers off the tee if you want the best angle for the second shot and a chance at eagle. There is plenty of room on the left, and a conservative option that still provides a birdie opportunity.

|---|---|---|
| Oxford | 5 | 440 m |
| Gold | 5 | 424 m |
| White | 5 | 404 m |
| Cambridge | 4 | 327 m |
A classic Sandbelt short par 4. A large landing zone makes driver an easy choice. Don’t be fooled thinking that you can hit it anywhere – the narrow and sloping green makes pins difficult to get to from the wrong fairway position, especially to flag position at the front of the green.

|---|---|---|
| Oxford | 4 | 327 m |
| Gold | 4 | 305 m |
| White | 4 | 286 m |
| Cambridge | 4 | 278 m |
A signature Commonwealth hole. Playing over a gentle rise, it requires clear thought around club selection. The visual intimidation when seeing the green from the tee can make it feel quite small. Accuracy is key here, and the centre of the green is always a good spot to be.

| Oxford | 3 | 143 m |
| Gold | 3 | 126 m |
| White | 3 | 112 m |
| Cambridge | 3 | 100 m |
A feature Commonwealth hole, where our natural lake sets the scene for a great strategic hole. The closer you play to the lake, the better the angle you will have to attack the flag. The green, perched on the hill, is well protected by a front right bunker and a heavy slope from back to front. Take an extra club playing into this green.

The recent course restoration unlocked new playing lines, ones you don’t want! A myriad of choices exist here – place a tee shot on the right-hand-side and leave a wedge in, attacking from the best angle. A driver can get you close and leave a short pitch, but don’ go left – the tilted green awaits and will turn away any shots coming from the left-hand side. Respect and enjoy this little gem.
